1996. Designed for an exhibition of contemporary furniture at the Waiheke Island Gallery. The marquetry pattern is an interpretation of the traditional French Café wall illusion. The effect is to accentuate the visual perception of curve, length, and bend making the fascia a dynamic, visually moving and energised feature. The top fascia is broken into three central drawers. The cabinet is made from Maple, the base has Birdseye Maple doors. The fascia fronts are veneered with Birdseye Maple and Ebony with Bubinga lines. L 2800 x W 600 x H 750
